is in the lanquage of Chinese art is a symbol for renewal.
The plum tree is the first to
blossom in the spring, often when the snows of winter are still
melting and their arrival is the promise of warm weather and the
growing seasons.
The songs birds follow returning
from there annual migrations and feed on the nectar of the blossoms.
The sculpture was commissioned
to be given as a gift to the donars list for a recipient of kidney
transplant.
