An
ocean bay on the northwestern coast of Corsica. Squiggles
on water are simply reflections. However, the squiggles on
rock masses and those on rocks may depict small animals. One
set of rather large rocks depict a fashion model descending
imaginary stairs, as well as a horse, a bull’s head,
etc. My greatest space challenge to date was to work out the
colors and hues needed to solve the three dimensional effects
of small outcroppings that complicate the general changing
form of the large red rock formation itself, rising out of
the sea. The spatial effects of the ins and outs of the smaller
areas in relation to the general effects “already”
solved illustrated dramatically the power of color for me.
