Intrigue

The 1969 “Passage” re-enters
the central area of Intrigue: the latter has been moved from
Four Corners to Oregon’s central coast. The uppermost
horizontal panel is a long cloud formation reflecting the
interstitial presentation of the subject matter in “Passage”.
The cloud images along the top hint at being ancient statues
before a breeze might whisk them away. A large robed woman
seems to be floating on her back in the moving water above
the appearance of a shore.
