A
reversal of the figures from Arboreal Spirits II, as well
as the mound on which they stand. But now the figures are
given a large expanse of early evening sky in which to scintillate
in their execution of a formal regal dance. One can imagine
the “spirit” of Marie Antoinette playing by moonlight
at being a shepherdess with some of her friends near Le Petit
Trianon in Versailles. They seem to slightly hover above their
mound; they phosphoresce; they verge on other worldliness.
